On December 12 two Thorndyke students were hosted by Tukwila Fire Department’s Engine 51. The scholars are studying a unit on community. The field trip to the fire station helped them to understand the importance of these first responders. The scholars learned about the apparatus on the truck, how to dispatch a call, and how to communicate with other first responders. A big round of applause to Tukwila firefighters Colin Koch and Mason Upton, Captain Aaron Johnson, and Battalion Chief Marty Roberts. The students had a fabulous time and felt valued!  Thank you.  Click here for more photos.
