For the second year in a row, Showalter Middle School students and staff came together to promote Dr. Martin Luther King’s vision with a Day of Solidarity. They pledged to be a school community full of respect, inclusion, and active participation against hatred, discrimination, or racism wherever they encounter it. Showalter is a safe and caring place for all!
The day kicked off with an assembly, and the theme of solidarity continued with reflective group activities each period. The students spoke to each other about allyship, identity, empathy, perspective, and the need for community because we really are so much stronger together.
Thank you to all the Showalter educators whose passion and planning made this possible!
Here students Harpneet Kaur and Delilah Ivanek speak to their peers about the importance of not judging others based on looks and stereotypes.
